Hey folks
I'm writing to let you all know that I've made BrlTTY 3.9
packages available for Ubuntu Gutsy to use and test. These
packages are currently in Hardy, so testing for existing
problems/new problems is appreciated, so I can get them
fixed before Hardy's release.

You can get them by adding the following line to
/etc/apt/sources.list

deb http://
ppa.launchpad.net/accessibility/ubuntu gutsy main

Then simply upgrade your system as normal to get the new
BrlTTY installed.

If you find anything, please email either me personally, or
the Ubuntu Accessibility list, and I'll look into them.

Thanks in advance.

Luke,

brltty 3.9 works fine from terminal, but orca seems unable
to connect to
it.
So i tried:
python -c "import brlapi"
and got an import error: "no module named brlapi"
lthen in root of system, doing
updatedb;locate brlapi
--cut--
/lib/libbrlapi.so.0.5.1
/lib/libbrlapi.so.0.4.1
/lib/libbrlapi.so.0.4
/lib/libbrlapi.so.0.5
/usr/share/doc/libbrlapi0.5
/usr/share/doc/libbrlapi0.5/NEWS.Debian.gz
/usr/share/doc/libbrlapi0.5/copyright

/usr/share/doc/python-orca-brlapi
/usr/share/doc/python-orca-brlapi/copyright
/usr/share/doc/python-orca-brlapi/changelog.Debian.gz
/etc/brlapi.key
/var/cache/apt/archives/libbrlapi0.5_3.9-6ubuntu1~ppa1_i386.
deb
/var/lib/dpkg/info/libbrlapi0.5.list
/var/lib/dpkg/info/libbrlapi1.postrm
/var/lib/dpkg/info/libbrlapi1.shlibs
/var/lib/dpkg/info/libbrlapi1.postinst
/var/lib/dpkg/info/libbrlapi1.list

/var/lib/dpkg/info/libbrlapi1.md5sums

removed ~/.orca/ and reset the settings, but still no luck.

any suggestions of what to try next?

Thank you.

Ah, you have to install the python-brlapi package, and
things should work.
