Hi all,
We are looking for experienced Orca users to try out the
latest
patch attached to bug #520494
http
://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=520494
This patch adjusts the way that single characters are
presented.
Here's the original test case:
Steps to reproduce:
1. Set the Speech System to Speech Dispatcher
2. Set the Orca punctuation level to anything except All
2. Open any web page in Firefox 3
3. Use arrow keys to review the text character by character
Actual results:
The punctuation characters, such as dots, commas,
exclamation
marks etc are not read.
Expected results:
The punctuation characters should always be read in the
keyboard review regardless the current punctuation level.
Unfortunately Tomas, the original bug submitter is going
away on vacation for 4 weeks, and I don't have speech
dispatcher on my system, so I'm looking for feedback from
other Orca speech dispatcher users.
The patch can be found in the following attachment to that
bug:
ht
tp://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=108118
It's a patch against SVN trunk, but I see no reason why
it shouldn't also work against Orca from the gnome-2-22
branch (with a few line offset differences).
If you are familiar and comfortable with applying patches
to the Orca code, then configuring, building and installing
Orca from that source code, and use speech dispatcher,
your feedback on this patch would be most welcome.
Please either add it as comments to the bug, or back to this
list or directly to me. In the latter two cases, I will add
the comments to the bug so they are not lost.
Thanks.
