QA & Software Tester
1. Tests and certifies vendor SOFTWARE, new systems,
enhancements,
upgrades and fixes to ensure the systems function as
documented.
2. Tests in-house terminal applications by creating test
data files
with valid and invalid records to thoroughly test program
logic and
verify system flow.
3. Executes moderately complex tests according to
established plans and
scripts, documents problems in an issue log and retests
SOFTWARE
corrections to ensure problems are resolved.
4. Recommends and implements best practices for testing.
5. Develops test plans and data requirements using defined
business
requirements (use cases) and manages test plans.
6. Plans, manages and guides business users in their
acceptance testing
initiatives.
7. Develops and updates QA/SOFTWARE Testing documentation in
an
efficient and timely manner according to departmental
standards and
procedures.
8. Implements and maintains a tracking system for monitoring
the
changes being implemented.
9. Documents the online system and testing procedures,
allowing
information to be shared with new members of the group
trying to learn
or test the system.
10. Other duties as required.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent 3-6 years of prior QA
experience
using Mercury tool suite - REQUIRED. Prior experience with
automated
test tools and general analysis tools Experience with
offshore test
team coordination Ability to draft a detailed test plan and
test script
document Ability to identify ad escalate defect issues in
writing and
in a timely fashion Knowledge of SDLC's (i.e. RUP, Agile,
Extreme
Programming) and associated techniques Good communication
skills (oral
and written)
