Unix System Design Engineer (1 needed)

In person Interviews

Duration : 6 months

Location : Lexington, MA

 

System Designers usually provide failover capability in servers, systems or networks requiring continuous availability and a high degree of reliability.

 

current Unix environment needs to be overhauled.  They need more hardware and operating system capacity to handle all the new development that is going to be taking place in the next year or so.  The candidate needs to have experience with both Unix Hardware and Software.  HP is preferred.  They should have had exposure setting up test environments for development.  They should also have experience with HA (High Availability), this is a system design protocol that ensures a certain degree of operational continuity during a given period of time. ; They should also have Failover experience.  This is the capability to switch over automatically to a redundant or standby network upon the failure of  the current network that for whatever reason ceases to work.  HA and Failover basically mean The Unix Engineer guarantees the system isn't going to go down and if it does there's another system that's going to take its place.
