Position: Lead Websphere Administrator

Location: Germantown, MD

Skills:

This position requires a BA/BS in Computer Science or Engineering and 7+ years experience as a Software Engineer. Must have a strong background in the set up and administration of IBM's WebSphere Application Servers (WAS). Should also have a solid programming background in Java / J2EE on a Linux platform (RedHat Enterprise preferred) using SQL based relational databases (Oracle preferred).

The candidate will setup, optimize, deploy, and maintain WAS (6.x preferred) in both development and production environments. Strongly desire experience deploying WAS instances over a WAN and experience with the WAS Network Deployment product. Knowledge of IBM's MQ product, JDBC resources, and Java Messing Services (JMS) is highly desirable. Must have experience in scripting languages (Jython and ANT preferred). Experience in developing and administrating Linux systems, working in a ClearCase CM environment, a background in supporting 24x7 mission critical applications, and WAS certification are highly desirable.

The candidate will develop the deployment and administration scripts and associated documentation so that non-programmer technicians can start, stop, and maintain WAS instances in production. Systems are to be field deployed at toll collection plazas and maintained by non-programmer technicians.
