Position : Senior Business Objects Developer

Location :Philadelphia, PA.

Duration :It is a 6 month to perm position

  Position Summary:

  The Business Object Senior Developer is responsible for maintaining the Business Objects Enterprise Reporting Environment. This includes server software, report writer software and user submitted report modules. He/She will be responsible to define, document, educate and implement solutions needed to meet the business requirements. He/She will be responsible for all aspects of the efforts needed to maintain and improve the reporting environment. This position reports to the Data Warehouse Manager and may have 1 or 2 direct reports.

  Principal Accountabilities:

  Provide leadership and direction to IS developers and users in their creation of reporting modules to meet their business needs.

  Provide response and assistance to production problems as reported by users or Service Desk/Production Delivery

  Ensure proper & effective use of reporting tools in the development of proposed solutions.

  Ensure that code and other implementation artifacts adhere to standards and implement the specified design by participating in detailed reviews and providing feedback & approval

  Provide training, mentoring and technical coaching to developers and users where appropriate.

  Perform other job related duties and projects as assigned

  Position Qualifications/Requirements:

  Education and Training:

  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience

  Five to seven years of experience in at least two IT disciplines in a client/server or service-oriented architecture (SOA) environment

  Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments

 

  Experience:

  Expertise in business intelligence and business objects technologies

  Knowledge of data warehousing development techniques

  High-level understanding of relational database management systems and other data structures

  Excellent analytical and technical skills

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork and facilitation
