| Hi , This is Sreedhar with Prithvi Information Solutions...Hope you are doing great Please let me know if any of your consultant available for this position. Position Details: Job Title ; :Sybase DBA Location ;: Pittsburgh, PA Duration : 6 Months General Overview:
The Senior Database Administrator is the primary source of Sybase expertise within the HVS Technical Services department. They are responsible for administering all internal database environments as well as providing support to external customers as needed. This includes the installation, maintenance and ongoing support of these databases. In addition, this person will be required to provide performance analysis and suggested remedies. The senior DBA will alsobe responsible for staying aware of future Sybase releases, patches, and products as they related to the MailRx product. Specific Tasks:
Install and configure Sybase ASE
Install and configure Sybase Replication Server
Research any new verions or patches
for Sybase
Provide database related advice internally
Maintain internal Sybase database environments (QA, implementation, dev, help desk, etc)
Provide end user Sybase support to MailRx customers
Troubleshoot general Sybase related problems, including security,
performance, connection issues and reporting
Provide assistance with data recovery
Troubleshoot Sybase performance related issues
Provide and maintain Syabse maintenance processes and scripts for both internal and customer use
Install, copy and create new MailRx environments as needed, which includes both Sybase and application configuration
Mentor new or junior DBAs as needed
Provide off-hours on call support for critical customer Sybase issues Required Skill Set:
Sybase ASE (current focus is 12.5.x) (5+ years)
Sybase Replication Server
(12.6) (2+ years)
SQL (ad hoc queries, writing stored procedures) (5+ years)
General familiarity on UNIX (AIX) (2+ years)
General familiarity with creating UNIX scripts for database functionality (maintenance scripts, backups, etc) (2+ years)
