: Architect - Oracle 1-2 Yrs
Additional Information:
Oracle eBusiness Suite Platform Engineer - MUST have knowledge in setup,
implementation and configuration of Oracle 11i. Peoplesoft, Siebel or Oracle
Portal 10g experience a huge plus. This is an oversight role which looks at the
big picture, rather than getting hands-on most of the time. Candidate will do
initial research then hand off to technical team. Desired skills include
knowledgeable and skilled in Oracle RDBMS 9 and 10g and Oracle Application
Server 10g - features and components, Concurrent Managers / CRON batch
processing mechanisms, patching, Integration concepts. Other skills considered:
AutoConfig, LDAP, Oracle Internet Directory, Oracle Portal 10g, Cisco Load
Balancing, Java JRE implementation, Oracle Real Application Clusters, Oracle
Enterprise Manager 10g, Capacity Planning, Information Risk Management and
Disaster Recovery. Onsite required
Oracle eBusiness Suite / Portal Technical Platform Engineering: a person with a
software development background would have the baseline skills needed to
technically manage an entire "platform". This is as an oversight role
rather than a technical role. Candidate will plan/manage/research/coordinate.
Role is as follows:
• Create/Maintain System Engineering Plan prior to each release -
o 1. It lists all of the high-level technical features that are planned for
delivery on the Project - includes a "Release Technology Features"
section.
o 2. It describes the high-level technical architecture of this Platform
Release, which remains substantially unchanged.
o 3. It provides additional detail for technical features planned for delivery
as part of the Project release.
o 4. It discusses the platform LOS requirements in a section intended to
reflect agreements made in Platform Service Level Agreements.
o 5. It outlines a backup strategy, the location of electronic security
assessments, a data purge/archive strategy, and a general discussion of
disaster recovery.
• Create/Maintain Technology Readiness Assessment prior to each release -
o 1. REQ'MNTS EVALUATION - are all requirement inputs complete, understood,
accurate?
o 2. MAKE VS. BUY ANALYSIS - if current platform can't meet requirements, do we
build or buy the added functions?
o 3. SYSTEM ENG PLAN - see above.
o 4. SCHEDULE - reasonable, are there long-lead items?
o 5. QUALITY ASSURANCE -
o 6. IT COHERENCE - any security concerns?
o 7. DEPLOYMENT PLANS - user site readiness understood? Training?
o 8. OPERATIONS ASSESSMENT - level of service, Service level agreements,
etc̷0; all understood?
o 9. DISASTER RECOVERY - are current plans in place still acceptable?
o 10. ON GOING MAINT -
• Coordinate people (DBAs, Developers, project leads, testing group,
etc..)
• Reports to project/platform managers on critical items and actions
plans to resolve,
• Research new/upgraded tech stack components
Perform "mini-projects" where new technology for a release is
required and we need to do lab scenario
