Automation Engineer
Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain a high level of technical expertise
in electric
power system automation and a working level of technical
expertise in
electric power system protection. * Develop and maintain a
high level
of knowledge of SEL equipment and solutions to electric
power system
protection and automation. * Perform system integration
design, system
automation design and HMI design and implementation as part
of a
project team. * Assist in the preparation and presentation
of
successful proposals for SEL equipment, services and
systems. * Be a
secondary customer contact on primarily technical matters. *
Work
within the project team to resolve customer concerns and
foster
customer satisfaction. * Complete assigned work within
agreed upon
schedule and budget to a high level of quality. * Train and
assist
customers with the installation, commissioning and operation
of
automation systems, both on-site and from SEL offices. *
Assume
Project Management role on assigned projects. * Follow and
improve
applicable processes. * Provide support for other SEL
marketing,
sales, application engineering and development activities.
Qualifications:
* B.S. in Electrical Engineering * Minimum three years
relevant
experience with electrical power systems or industrial
automation
system practices * Good knowledge of international system
integration
and automation applications, including applicable
communication
protocols and communication technologies * Working knowledge
of
electric power systems and protective relay applications *
Excellent
technical training, speaking and writing skills * Experience
with HMI
design and implementation * Willing to travel
internationally *
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
* Ability
to work cooperatively in a team environment * Background
check results
satisfactory to SEL * Negative drug test result(s)
