Project Lead - Software Engineering
Job Description:
· This position has the responsibility of leading firmware
engineers
in developing instru-ment and control systems for genomic
sciences. ·
Architects and designs software processes. · Hands-on,
actively solves
project/function-related problems in his/her specialty with
minimal
guidance. · Applies his/her knowledge and experience to
impact project/
function direction. · Creates requirement and design
documents and
translates those designs into software solutions to be
executed by the
group. · Implements modular solutions as part of a larger
system
architecture. · Estimates project development time for
budgetary and
resource allocation needs. · Contributes not only to the
management of
the project but implements software as well.
Experience and Knowledge
Possesses software implementation and management experience
in most of
the following areas: · Firmware, DSP, embedded GUI,
development in
RTOS environment · C/C++ · Linux · Distributed message
passing
architectures and concepts · Networking concepts (e.g.
TCP/IP,
sockets, web protocols, web server implementations) · Some
Image
Processing and Numerical Analysis algorithm development ·
Signal
processing concepts · Project leadership / Development time
and
budgetary estimating · Product development lifecycles,
including
designing, implementing, testing, and docu-menting software
· FDA
procedures for compliance with software
development/implementation
requirements · Testing methodologies (both manual and
automated)
Requirements:
* Possess a B.S. in Computer Sciences, Physics, Engineering
or related
discipline. * 7+ years industry experience in software
development,
project leadership and group management. * OR an M.S. in
those
disciplines and 5+ years industry experience.
