Senior Windows Engineer
This position is primarily responsible for our Windows
server
environment and core client-server applications.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Responsible for application support for client/server
applications.
* Perform server hardware installs, Operating system
installs,
Application installs. * Provide operating system patching
and
application patching or upgrades. * Assume direct
responsibility for
40% of the servers in the Spectrum Brands datacenter.
· Monitor hardware, software, and operating systems to
ensure that
each is performing according to approved standards.
· Be the expert on assigned applications.
· Perform elementary network troubleshooting.
· Create small-scale project plans and drive them to
completion.
· Troubleshoot and resolve problems referred by first or
second tier
help desk support.
· Maintain and accept ownership of assigned helpdesk
tickets,
documenting all activities performed in resolving problems.
· Actively participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
· Provide outstanding customer service.
Required Skills
· Strong ability to learn independently and adapt to
change.
· Strong Microsoft Server skills.
· Excellent troubleshooting skills. Solid TCP/IP knowledge.
· Solid Active Directory administration skills.
· Strong time-management and project-management skills.
· Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
· Results-focused.
· Interest in continuous improvement.
· Passion to make a difference to the business.
Desired Skills
* Experience with vbScript or other scripting preferred. *
Experience
administering Citrix preferred.
Required Experience
· B.S. degree related to Information Systems or equivalent
experience.
· Minimum 4 years total Information Systems experience.
· Enterprise I.S. experience strongly preferred.
· MCSE 2000 or 2003 preferred.
· CCNA recommended.
