Job Description:

 

Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs. May require an associate's degree in a related area.
The Automated Underwriting team will focus on implementing existing ‘clean’ application logic to all states as they move to IUS, and pilot underwriting decision tree logic for the California business in 2007. Upon completion of the CA pilot, all states will take advantage of the new UW decision tree logic. In addition, the team will provide the ability to publish drill-down questions to the front-end online applications and support a database to house the new corporate medical underwriting guidelines currently in development.

 

Developer: strong understanding of Websphere 5.1/6.0 Installation, deployment and administration skills, Websphere 5.1/6.0 Development, RAD6/7 IDE, XML, AJAX, SOAP-based AXIS, JMS Transport, Websphere MQ (MQSeries Messaging), Java, HTML, DHTML,. J2EE, IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM WebSphere Portal
IBM Rational Application Developer v6 (RAD6), JavaScript, Java Server Pages (JSP), Web Services - Some of the Java APIs that we will be using are as follows: (These would be nice for the candidate to have, but not essential)
Java Message Service (JMS )
JDBC
Java Server Faces (JSF)
AJAX
AXIS

 

Skills:

Websphere Studio

 

Level 4 - At least 8-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
