RPG Developer - Houston, TX

Position : RPG Developer

Location :  Houston, TX

Duration – Upto 3 years

Hourly rate : DOE

 

Candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:
10 plus years of RPG project development ranging over RPG, ILE, DB2, CLP
over 5 years of which should be development of projects using a SDLC methodology
majority of development experience should be in major modifications or creation of in-house software systems, not in interfacing or customizing end-user vendor software packages.
fundamental understanding of SQL to the extent of designing and creating tables and indexes.
understanding of RPG ILE concepts with limited use or exposure
ability to analyze a problem or task and develop a series of steps to generate a solution
ability to communicate clearly with others both verbally and in writing
ability to work to deadlines
ability to understand business requirements, produce clear and concise technical specifications
experience in learning environments with the ability knowledge share
experience working as a developer in a team environment. Team environment means more than one developer on the same task or project, vs a team of developers working on independent projects.
experience or desire to work in an environment with mixed technologies such as RPG / Java including client server applications.
internally motivated self starting
use to working in environments with segregation of duties/responsibilities (PBOC)
seeks out professional growth including desire to understand business domain


In additional, Ideal candidates will meet the following requirements:
5+ years RPG ILE experience, including designing/creating modules and service programs is a plus
3+ years with embedded SQL and/or stored procedures is a plus
5+ years using Turnover or similar Software change management / control system.
