Application Developer I SQLServer, Access
RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Supports
Development Life
Cycle including Maintenance
Translates specific portions of business requirements to
technical
specifications
Assists with the technical designs of new application or
enhancements
including integration of purchased solutions
With direction, supports the Code Asset Management process.
Codes and/or reuses existing code through the use of
program
development software and/or integrates purchased solutions
Supports and promotes the reuse of assets across the
organization
With direction, performs unit and integrated system testing,
according
to detailed plans to ensure high-quality systems
With direction, supports processes related to the
implementation of
system into production including integration of purchased
solutions.
Performs ongoing system maintenance, research, and support,
according
to defined plans or documentation for existing systems
Utilizes accepted methodology & tools in a disciplined
manner
Supervision Received: Receives direct but not constant
supervision.
Competent to work on several phases of systems analysis and
application program development with only general direction,
but
requires some instruction and guidance for other phases
Supervision Exercised: Generally none but may occasionally
assist more
junior Programmer/Analyst.
Experience in SQL Server (2000/2005) development (tables,
stored
procedures, views, DTS/SSIS, etc) required
Proficient in Microsoft Access programming/reporting
preferred
General knowledge of claim data (structures and usage) and
processing
standards helpful
Able to follow standards of development and environmental
concerns, as
well as complex business rules
Able to provide best-in-class solutions to business problems
using
best practices, well-formed code, and generally accepted
standards
