QA Technician (Localisation)
JOB SUMMARY
Job Purpose: To work within a team under the direction of a
Lead QA
Localisation Technician. To find, report and regress defects
found
within assigned title. To ensure localised assets are
correctly
translated, consistent with the English and correctly
implemented in
to the game. To amend incorrect translations and any other
language
issues when required. Primary Duties:
* Test software as per Lead QA Loc Technician's instructions
* Conform
during testing to the format holder and/or our internal
standards *
Accurately record defects found by entering into the
database in a
clear and concise manner and provide solutions to the issue
* Amend
text problems in text-files or localisation tools (when
required) * Re-
test allocated defects (eg. Claimed Fixed) in subsequent
builds, and
update the corresponding database entry * Perform
functional,
technical and linguistic checks on printed materials *
Complete any
daily tasks set by the Lead QA Technician (eg.
play-throughs, gameplay
evaluation, competitive analysis) * Do translations as and
when
requested.

PROFILE ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE
Experience & Qualifications Mother tongue standard for
target
language. (Educated to degree level)
Educated to high standard of English language, with a deep
understanding of grammar and spelling. Previous
localisation
experience would be an advantage.
Technical Skills Ability to follow technical instructions.
Ability to work in a methodical and logical manner.
PC literate. Knowledge of MS Office suite. Good
understanding of
Windows and PC set-up.
Interpersonal Skills Essential to be a good team member, who
is
willing to learn through experience.
Clear communication skills (both verbal and written).
Other Skills / Values Hard working and honest.
Punctual time-keeping.
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Motivations & Interests A keen interest in computer
games. Up to date
knowledge of upcoming hardware in the console and PC
market.
Personal Circumstances Flexibility to work unsociable
hours.
