Senior Java Architect/Lead Developer
Job Summary
Design and develop major components of a next generation
automotive
retail ASP application and framework using the latest in
Java APIs and
open source frameworks. Analyze requirements and design
software at
system, subsystem and unit level. Mentor junior and
mid-level
programmers, research topics and devise solutions for 3rd
party
integration and best practice solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Design and develop Java web-based and service oriented
software
through all tiers from presentation to persistence * Develop
in a fast
iteration, agile environment * Write unit tests to validate
all
critical or ambiguous functionality using latest mock object
testing
techniques * Effectively communicate design decisions and
other issues
with other members of the team. * Mentor junior members of
the team *
Interface with product management, business analysts,
project
management and customers on an as-needed basis * Strong
knowledge of
J2SE technologies must have in depth knowledge of the Java
APIs and
familiarity with the source code. Must have
"hands-on" coding
experience with the latest JDK version * Expert level Java
Development
and knowledge of J2EE APIs and a proven track record of
writing J2EE
components on lightweight or monolithic containers in a
production
environment
Preferred Skills
* Expert level java development and knowledge of J2EE API's
* Strong
knowledge of java open source technologies * Experience with
JBOSS
(3.2.7 or 4.x) app server deployment in a clustered
environment
Required Skills
* Proficiency with the core Java language, J2EE API's,
object-oriented
design and design patterns * Ability to work in a
low-process rapid
development environment * Ability to acquire and master new
and
complex technical skills * Ability to be a self-starter and
use own
initiative appropriately * Proficiency with database design
and SQL
data modeling skills * Proficiency with the following
presentation-
tier technologies: JSP/JSTL, JavaScript/DHTML and CSS
