Applications Programmer
To create software to facilitate new applications of our
next-
generation DNA sequencing technology Job duties include to:
*Work with
others to prototype algorithms to solve problems in DNA
sequence
analysis, in particular the detection of structural variants
in DNA
sequences. *Translate prototype algorithms into robust and
high-
performance software for delivery to customers as part of
our data
analysis software.
Education and Experience: *Strong scientific programming
skills with
evidence of agility in algorithm development *Excellent
knowledge of C
and/or C++ mandatory *Strong knowledge of Perl and/or Python
mandatory
*At least degree qualified, MSc or PhD preferred
*Post-qualification
work experience in bioinformatics is an advantage,
particulary in the
area of DNA sequence analysis * Experience working in a
clustered
Linux enivironment is an advantage
