EN-592 Software Test Engineer - Contract - Pasadena, CA

A leading developer of optical design and analysis software
has an
opening a contract Software Test Engineer.
You will maintain suites of automated test cases, product
release
testing across multiple hardware platforms.
You must have experience with Windows and UNIX environments
and must be
comfortable maintaining operating systems used for testing.
You should
be able to interface equally well with a staff of Software
Development
Engineers, Computer Systems Engineers as well as development
managers
in a team-oriented environment.
You must also be familiar with the software development
process, the
software development life cycle and software testing
methodologies.
Primary responsibilities of the position include, but are
not limited
to:
o. Manually testing software products
o. Writing test plans and matrices
o. Assessing a GUI for the purpose of creating and
documenting manual
test scenarios
o. Maintenance of the automated test case suites, including
adding new
tests, executing tests, and verifying test results
Requirements:
o. 5+ years experience in software testing executing
software test
plans (Required)
o. Experience testing under both Windows and UNIX operating
systems
(Required)
o. Experience using CAD software and/or SolidWorks
(Required)
o. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Physics, Math,
Engineering a
plus
Notes:
o. Authorized US workers only.
o. Local candidates only -- no relocation or per diem is
budgeted for
this
position. (Non-local candidates OK if you are willing to
interview and
relocate on your own dime.)
o. Manually testing software products
o. A thorough background check is done including education,
