A leading developer of corporate tax software is seeking to
broaden and
deepen its technical bench strength in support of its market
leading,
enterprise level, distributed, commercial software system -
a system
that is undergoing a significant technical migration in
addition to the
expansion of its capabilities.
They are seeking an architect level person with a broad and
deep
technical background in distributed, scaleable business
systems based
on Microsoft technologies.
Responsibilities
1. Plan, perform and manage software architecture and
technical
activities for highly scaleable, distributed business
applications on
Microsoft platforms.
2. Work closely with the architecture team to develop
architectural
concepts, standards and processes.
3. Awareness of future technologies when making
architectural and
technical decisions
4. Conduct technical requirements and design reviews,
provide direction
to team members and resolve technical issues.
5. Abstract problems, question solutions, and simplify
designs.
6. Lead teams of designers and developers.
7. Mentor architects, designers and developers to adopt
improved
development practices and foster a team environment across
multiple
locations.
8. Be accountable for the quality of deliverables.
9. Work on multiple projects simultaneously, providing
support to
vendors and in-house developers.
10. Prepare concise written documentation and technical
presentations
for multiple constituencies.
Requirements:
o. 8+ in software development, with at least three guiding
the
architectural and technical aspects of distributed,
scaleable business
systems from requirements analysis to shipping product
(Required)
o. Solid experienced with object-oriented methodologies and
Microsoft's
latest technologies with a focus on .Net/C# (Required)
o. Experience with and thorough understanding of
multi-tiered software
architectures for business applications (Required)
o. Awareness and knowledge of emerging technologies such as
Windows
Vista, AJAX, 2007 Microsoft Office System, etc. (Required)
o. Experience in Microsoft's enterprise technologies such
as COM+
o. Awareness and knowledge of alternate technologies such as
J2EE
o. Experience standard development methodologies like Agile
or MSF
o. BS in computer science
