Insurance background is a major plus


 


Qualifications:


    
  
  • Operating System, Scripting, Tuning, and Administration 
  
  • Interfacing with Legacy Systems using communications methods and data 
  interfaces 
  
  • UDB Database fundamentals in the Solaris Environment 
  
  • SAP Development and/or System administration highly desirable 
  
  • Some knowledge of SAP Insurance and Financial modules (FS-CD, G/L,Biller 
  Direct, Business Partner), CRM and Business Warehouse 
  
  • B.S. Required, M.S. Desirable. 5-7 Years IT Experience, Insurance industry 
  experience desirable. 
  
  • Administration including: Batch processing, Work processes, Spooling, 
  System monitoring,System protocols 
  
  • Security Administration


Support includes:


Implement the SAP configuration requirements of the development teams


(e.g. Performance Testing group, conversion and integration 
consultants)


in a timely manner.


 


Performance Tuning and System Monitoring


Configure the required monitoring tools within Basis, including 
triggers


and alerts. Monitor actual performance and resource usage and


proactively implement any necessary changes (e.g. the number and size 
of


data buffers, the number and relative priority of dialog and batch


processes running on an application server) to ensure satisfactory


service levels. Forecast resource utilization based on trend 
information


captured in the system logs to plan for additional storage capacity 
or


extra system resources.


 


Problem Resolution with Users


Work with users and developers who are experiencing problems with the


SAP R/3 system. Be the primary contact with SAP for problem 
resolution.


 


System Installation and Verification


Installation and verification of modules and supporting software on 
the


different development, test and production environments
