EN-569 Release Builder - Staff - Redmond, WA
Microsoft is looking for an experienced release builder to
help produce
protocol documentation for licensees and regulatory groups.
They are
looking for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, dynamic
environment,
is passionate about quality, and can create, use,
troubleshoot, and
maintain agile, robust build systems.
The primary responsibility of this position is to process
XML source
files (authored using XMetaL) using transforms and other
applications
to deliver built content in a variety of formats such as
.chm, .mht,
and .pdf. Additional responsibilities include posting
content for
technical reviews, setting up build automation, creating,
analyzing,
and troubleshooting batch files, and be a key contributor to
the design
and implementation of improved build tools and processes.
You will also be responsible for analyzing, solving, and/or
escalating
build problems and will work closely with program managers
and
documentation managers to plan for upcoming deliverables.
Other tasks
include proactively collaborating with members of build
teams in other
groups to stay up to date on standard processes and tools.
Requirements:
o. 4+ years experience as a builder, including 2+ years
creating, using
and troubleshooting batch files and scripts (Required)
o. A strong working knowledge of at least one scripting
language
(Required)
o. Experience with XML, HTML, and CSS (Required)
o. Experience with source control systems and standard build
archiving
processes (Required)
o. Experience coding C# or VB.NET a plus
o. Experience planning and implementing UI-based build
automation tools
a plus
o. Experience with HTML Help and XMetaL a plus
