EN-566 Data Warehouse Tools Engineer - Pasadena, CA
Salary: BOE + bonus
A leading ISP needs two Data Warehouse Tools Engineers --
one junior
and one senior.
The senior position will lead a BusinessObjects and WEBI
deployment
that promotes a Self Serve reporting environment. (The
junior position
will be a developer, not a team leader.)
The role requires in-depth knowledge of the Business Objects
suite of
tools (Application Foundation, WebIntellignce, Designer,
Supervisor,
Crystal Enterprise & reports). Must have proven
experience in design &
deploying dashboards.
You will work closely with Data Modeler and ETL developers
to design
end-to-end solutions including data models, ETL design and
applications.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
- Design & Develop Dashboards
- Assume lead role for team projects where direction of
other Business
Metrics team members may be needed
- Define methodology, standards and practices for
implementing
reporting solutions with appropriate documentation
- Represent Business Metrics in project meetings/discussions
- Develop training solutions to promote self-serve reporting
amongst
end users and advance technical skill sets amongst the
internal
developers
- Design & develop a security model that supports SOX
standards.
- Considered an authority in Universe design and BO report
writing;
- Hands on universe and report development with Business
Objects/Crystal environment on multiple projects
- Provide support for general reporting, Analytics and BO
tools issues;
- Design, implement, install, configure, and maintain BO
Suite of
tools, Develop migration plans between environments; Hands
on in
planning and deployment of upgrades and patch releases of BO
and other
tools;
- Mentor growth of technical staff
- Expected to constantly and pro-actively look for ways to
improve the
customer experience
- Responsible for creating knowledge base articles and
Business Objects
technical whitepapers
- Advanced hands on knowledge and experience with the BO SDK
for full
client and WEBI.
- Prioritization and management of J2EE application
enhancement,
development and implementation
Requirements:
o. Solid experience with the Business Objects suite of tools
(Required)
o. Advanced knowledge of data warehouse tools (Required)
o. Advanced knowledge of SQL and enterprise RDBMs (Required)
o. Experience in design & deploying dashboards
(Required)
o. Experience with web development including HTML, XML,
Style Sheets
(Java and J2EE a plus)
o. Experience in Unix Environment is preferred.
