Thank you so much for your response. I've been on paxil since 2000. I suffered from depression and social anxiety. I've actually been on the generic, (now that you mention it) paroxetine (I'm not sure if that is spelled correctly).
I've been weening for about 3 weeks now. I had headaches and nausea when I went from the 20mg to 10. But when I started 10 every other day, i really began to suffer. I weened down to a 5mg today (which is my last pill) but I honestly don't know if all the suffering is worth it.
I've been sick (too ill to work) for the past 3 days. I have horrendous nausea and gastro-intestinal issues, a killer headache, ear aches, hot flashes, fever and of course, a very intense depression.
I've seen and read the many stories about people (particularly young children) who have suffered while going off of the drug, but never imagined something so intense. The depression is the most severe I've ever struggled with- and its so hard to know is it me ? or is it because I'm scaling back on the meds?
Did your doctor give you any kind of indication as to what to expect? (How long you can expect the headaches?)
Again, thank you for taking the time to respond. Its good to know that I'm not crazy or alone in this. ;)
