Jason:
I, too, withdrew from 40mg and I am down
to 7.5mg! I had to change my doc’s 5mg plan and go down 2.5mg at a
time in order to stay functional. I got a pill cutter and just split in
half and half and half – well you get the picture. I go down one
notch every 10 days. One time, I had to stay at a notch for an extra 10
days until I felt stable. I feel bad for 4 days – maybe have
headaches, feel really tired, have head zaps and even have some hopeless
feelings – but by day 5 I would be okay again. Positive changes
are: now that I am below 10mg, my husband has commented on the return of
my sex drive and I now have a full range of emotions. I have been on
Paxil for 12 years. Over the last three years, I lost both of my parents
and only cried a couple of times. It is so wonderful to have the ability
to grieve and cry when appropriate. I know this sounds weird to “want”
to feel typically labeled “bad” emotions, but when you don’t
have the ability to cry it is hard to any kind of release and I ended up with
an excess of anger. The best advice I have heard about this whole
withdrawal process is that the slower you go, the better chance you have of
being off of medications long term.

Hello, folks.
I am beginning tomorrow the withdrawal from Paroxetine Paxil. I am
currently on 40mg a day, and quite nervous as to how this will
affect me.
My doctor has me reducing by 5 mg every two weeks. During this time
my main concern is that I can continue working (I drive 2.5 hours a
day to and from work).
I am not really good at the support group thing....just nervous and
feel I need folks going through the same things as I am to help me
through this.
since being on paxil I have gained a lot of weight...lost what was a
huge sex drive almost completely...and just feel always kinda
buzzed.
That's why I have asked to be taken off of it. before I was under
severe aghoraphobia in wide open spaces....now I'm kinda feeling
that that was better than this.
Anyhow, hello.
