Very happy to meet you Jo Ann and thank you very much for
saying we are special. I've thought about quiting many times
but it's the ones who touch your heart that keep you going.
I looked at Gmans link and I think it's to much for me.
Working good for now so I'm going to wait till it breaks.
Again thank you.

  Becky,

Good to meet you, all of the hospice people I've met are
special. So sorry
to hear about Spider. I remember when he lost his aAngel,
but I didn't know
he was sick. I'm sure you'll get help here, but if you want
to replace a
motherboard and you've never opened a case, go slowly. If
the computer is
working, I suggest you use it a while and learn more about
them. Good to
have you with us.

everywhere on here
I've not opened a computer up yet in my life but if a newbie

like to try. I was one of the hospice people caring for him.
I'm not sure
how to get the information you need, could you lead a little
old lady

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your friend and I'm
sure I'm
not alone in wanting to ask you for the name he used here.

As far as suggesting a motherboard for the system, we'll
need to know a
few things. Since you said it was a Dell board in there now,
do you have
any idea what the model of the original system is? Dell uses
make names
such as Dell Dimension, etc, along with a number for the
model. That info
alone will tell me everything I need to know.

If you don't have that info, are you comfortable with
opening up the
case and peering inside? (I have no idea yet of your
experience with
replacing/handling computer hardware)

Peace,
GMan

Great Becky,

Watch the group and you will learn as you go. In the mean
time use the
computer and enjoy it. If you're new to computers, you may
not need to
upgrade it for a good while as long as it works ok. Use
Google, google knows
all.
