I know. I've only had mine about 6 months and they are two
years old. They
are terrified when I put my hand in the cage.

And if you don't train them from birth, they won't allow you
to handle them.
We have only two that will jump up on our finger, but they
won't allow us to
take them out of the cage that way.

Jo Ann,
All the more reason to put your hand in as often as
possible. The more
you do it, the more they'll learn that you're not trying to
hurt them. I
often reach in just to adjust a perch or their swing, just
to remind them
I'm a good guy. Feed them smaller amounts more times a day
and put the
dishes inside the cage by hand rather than just opening up a
door and
sliding it in. All of this will help reenforce the idea
that you're a
friend. Even if they never allow you to touch them, they'll
eventually
suffer less panic by your presence in the cage. And that
can only be good
for their little hearts. :O)

Peace,
GMan
