Has anyone been following the Julie Amero story? Its the
story about Julie Amero, a substitute teacher, who was
charged with four counts of RISK OF INJURY TO A MINOR, OR
IMPAIRING THE MORALS OF A CHILD, and now after being
convicted, facing 40 years in prison. I've been following it
for a couple months now. Here's the gist of it:

yeeeeeeeeeeGADS and little fishes...this is
ridiculous!..Here we go again
with this nonsense about a risk free life. It don't happen
kiddlings...NO
one can be protected from absolutely everything including
kids. OR adults. I
mean..where ARE these people living? in a glass bubble???
gak. Next thing I
vision is you will see the parents getting whomped for even
breathing
around a kid--talk about extremism--there it is. I wouldn't
want to have a
kid in this day and age for anything. SPT!

I just read about that this morning on one of my
newsletters. Sounds like
she is getting a raw deal and makes me fear for my teacher
children (3 of
them).

It IS totally absurddddddddddddddd...and it reaks of the
effects of trying
to overportect life in general..stuff happens. So what...it
happens and on
you go. If everyone in this country made a federal case out
of every single
little thing that happened we would all be labeled
paranoid..
!!!!!!!!!!!!!...geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez

This is totally absurd. I belong to a crime discussion group
and we
have been talking about this case for a while. It is amazing
that in
this day and age, that the computer expert, Horner, wasn't
allowed to
give all of his evidence! He verified everything that Julie
had to
say and was willing to testify to his findings. I also can't
believe
the jury convicted her. I can tell you that if I was there,
the jury
would have been hung! I would have never voted for
conviction. They
must have had totally computer illiterate people on that
jury,
because ANYONE would have been able to identify with going
to a web
site and seeing porn pop up. It happens. You deal with it
and move
on. I hope they do not give her the max, that would just add
to the
insanity. I could go on and on about this, but I won't.
Suffice it to
say that it makes me royally mad. There are real criminals
out there
that they should be prosecuting, not a naive school teacher.

I hadn't heard about this.
It is horrible! I sure hope that at some point,
someone gets 'smart' and figures this out.
Her life still will never be the same.

and what about the pedophile who was too pretty to go to
jail? that
was total crap. That judge should have been thrown off the
bench. And
what did she do, while she was on house arrest? she sends
porn to kid
that she molested! If that was a male teacher with a female
student,
his butt would have been in the slammer. For a country
dedicated to
prosecuting child molesters, they really missed the mark on
that case.

Makes you sick, I hope she appeal's the case. I know this
was hard on the kids but it was not her fault. Justice
sometimes is more than blind.
