On an embroidery list I am on several people have new
computers with Vista and are having problems with the
embroidery programs.. they want to go BACK to XP.. is that
possible? One lady went shopping for a laptop with XP on it
and couldn't find one. Everything was Vista... What can be
done??

Have the people gone to the embroidery program sites and
checked
to see if they have a patch that updates the program for
Vista?

Hi ML,
Perhaps they can try compatibility mode.
You can access this by right-clicking on the executable
(exe),
clicking on Properties, and then choosing the Compatibility
tab.

Or, assuming you have the disks for WinXP, etc., simply
reload the original OS you had before going to Vista.

Interesting,

You are the "only" group I could reply email to.
Seems maybe my outlook
express is defaulting to my other account maybe when I am
replying to folks
on other lists and it does not send, gets hung up in the
outbox. I have
done nothing to the settings though. I seem to receive
email fine from all.

Any clues?

Thanks,

I THINK the problem is that someone bought a pc with vista
on it brand new
and found out that her embroidery software wouldn't
work..but did work when
she used XP...on another computer...maybe..... I have been
hearing this is a
pretty sizeable con about Vista with certain embroidery
software. Waiting
to see how they handle it.. not that I will follow.. I am
staying XP as long
as it will be possible.
