hello when I try to copy to my external hard drive I get a
message
says something to the extent.
"can not copy file, the path to the file can't be
found"
it can to be found I just copied or atempted to copy the
stuff over to the 
hd
the drive then locks refuses to power down
I have to unplug it to get it to turn off
is plugged in to  a usb hub
1.1 only not 2.0
any suggestions?
my drive dieing?
if so any way to back up 120 gigs of stuff to disks, any
proggies to disk 
span etc.
I need some help I have music I have ripped from my
collection and don't 
feel like having to re do it again.
I have like all my cds sitting on my external hd in mp3,
ogg, and wma.

Hank,
    Unless you hear some loud clicking or scraping sounds
coming from the 
drive, it's most likely fine.  As far as I know, hard drives
move data 
faster than a USB 1.1 pipe can handle.  My suggestion would
be to purchase 
an internal USB 2.0 PCI card and connect the external drive
to that.
