Hi Gma:
What a surprise I see the group again in my PC.
I try so many times to change to freelist and was always
unsuccessful.
Thank God all my friends are still here so I always got an
answer to my =
problems.

Have a question for you.
I had a virus many years ago at the time it showed a sign
that will say =
"nothing to do"=20
I do not have the virus anymore but...once in a while when I
am working =
on my folders the sign pops up makes three copies of
whatever I am =
trying to save.
I am SURE you have an answer.
Thanks for bringing there.
Hugs Evelyn

Hi Evelyn,
Welcome home, Sweets. It's really great to see you
again. :O)

While rummaging through the member list in search of
permanent
vacationers, I came across your addy and became very
puzzled. I've missed
you since my return and wondered why you were no longer an
active member of
the group. Now, I find that your addy has been sitting on
Vacation mode for
who knows how long and thought I'd give you a nudge. I'm so
glad I did, now
that I see you were in no-woman's land all this time. Seems
you somehow
managed to get yourself on the list, but in a mode that
wouldn't allow
messages to come to you or allow you to post.

As for your old virus that isn't there but still reminds
you of its
presence, I don't have an answer right off the top of my
head. However, I
will look to see if your symptoms have been documented
anywhere. Truth is,
if you're still experiencing these symptoms, the virus is
still there in
some form. It may no longer be active in the strictest
sense (able to
replicate and/or infect other files or machines), but it's
still able to
exert some influence over your machine. Let me see what I
can find out for
ya.

Peace,
GMan

I simply felt you needed our help with something and needed
the excuse of
cleaning out the invalid accounts as a smokescreen. I'll
accept your hug
and raise you a smooch, right in the kisser (don't tell the
hubby).
;O}

In my research on your problem so far, I've come up
empty using the
exact quote you gave, "nothing to do". Is there
any chance it was spelled
differently in that sign? Perhaps something along the lines
of "nuthin 2
do" or "nothing too do" or some other
misspelled variation?

Peace,
GMan

Along those lines I have several times seen an error message
when I was
shutting down that read " should not see " or
"shouldn't see me" something
like that for a split second. It didn't seem to be shutting
down abnormally
though. Anyone know what that was about?

Lois,
After checking with various known 'good info' sites, the
final verdict
is that one of the engineers of the Windows Installer app
decided to show he
really does have a sense of humor when naming a window that
we really should
never see. The window is part of the Installer's shut down
process and
normally comes up, resolves and disappears so fast that it
doesn't have time
to even be partially drawn by Windows, let alone seen by an
end user.

The problem is, if a process that relies on the
Installer hangs, people
actually get to see the window and its 'funny' name. Not
knowing that it's
just a stupid programmer joke can certainly make for a scary
moment for most
people, as you've discovered yourself. If it comes up too
often, I would
have to deduce that at least one Installer support file has
become
corrupted. Your options then would be to ignore it if
nothing else seems to
be exhibiting problematic behavior, try reinstalling the
Windows Installer
after downloading the latest version from the MS site and,
if all else fails
and other serious problems seem to follow the 'funny'
window, back up your
stuff from the system and reformat/reinstall the works.

Peace,
GMan
