I'm about to build two computers for friends, and I
sometimes buy used 
ones at yard sales to pass on. How do you test computers to
try and make 
sure they are all right? Do you have a burn in program or
something that 
you use?

I run Prime 95 for at least 24 hours on mine.

If you are testing a Dual core machine, then here's a way to
run a copy of
Prime95 for each core
