My laptop froze. It has win xp media edition 2005 - the
screensaver is what froze. Happens often. This time tho, it

was different - you could see my desktop. ctrl/alt/dl said
it was the screensaver that was not responding. I got things

closed - all but that wouldn't end. It asked to send report

to microsoft - that wouldn't end either. I tried everything

that I could think of - finally hit the on /off button.
turned it off/ turned it on. Now, I have a box there that
says:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
windows file protection:
Files that are required for windows to run properly have
been replaced by unrecognized versions. tTo maintain system
stability windows must restore the original versions of
these files.
Insert cd now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

ok - I'm thinking, phew! I demanded that Dell give me a cd
after I got the laptop - it's labeled operating system -
already installed on your computer - reinstalation dvd
microsoft windows xp media center edition 2005.

so! I put that in my drive... and it says.... wrong cd.

so!! what do I do????
I can cancel it, or retry. obviously, retry won't work.
cancelling will what? make me unstable? <smile>

-=PCTechTalk=- Help with a Game

I am learning how to make Games and I have followed
instructions
for the Galactic Mail Game-- meaning I didn't create the
artwork -- I simply followed instructions.

The only problem -- I have never played games before so I
can't
get very far in the game. My hand and eye coordination
leaves a
lot to be desired (LOL)

So if there are any gamers on the list, could you please
test
the game.

Please download the game to your hard drive (PC only as it's
an
.exe file), click on it then press F1 to read the
instructions
before you start.

What I would like to know is, can you get through all three

levels and win the game? Also do you get a high score
screen
that shows blank when you start? If it shows my pathetic
attempts, I would like to know that also.

The link for the game is here:

http://www.
agoodread.com/GalacticMail.exe

Private emails back to me would be appreciated. My end goal
is
to create games with my own artwork.

I appreciate your help

well - I went ahead and tried running windows update and
downloaded the non-essential updates that were there (the ms
website said something about windows update). it rebooted
fine - and didn't come up with that error again, so here's
crossing fingers!
