Harold I still don't think you understand. Secunia
DOES
do the research already, so you or I won't have to. When
they
find a vulnerability or the like with an OS, browser, or
software, they send out the alerts with the fixes. Then
it's
up to the user (you, I, etc.) to decide if we want to
install
the patch or not, and of course it is wise to do so unless
it's
determined that we don't need it; either due to the obvious
that we don't use the OS or software, or, we don't need it
due
to our specific setup and configurations.

Clint, you are right again. I get the PCWorks Digest and I
thought your
commnet was directed to me. What happened in this case (your

rchive.com/pcworks imagicomm.com/msg12424.html)
was that I first saw 1) your remark, "No one is
forcing you to
read them,"
followed by 2) the remark I now reasize you were directing
your
comment to,
followed by 3) my question to you. The fact that my question
(3) was
included as a thread in that posting made me think you were
responding to
me. If you look at it, it could be interpreted that way.
Regarding these Secunia Research vulnerability reports,
it's
just something
else that will, if I let it, take me away from the beautiful
weather we are
having here in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. I 'gotta' get out
on
the boards
(that's what we call the boardwalk) and do some
jogging/powerwalking,
whatever I can do, and leave the secunia reseach the more
sophisticated
computer users. --- Harold
