PCWorks: Suddenly, cannot save emails to a storage HD, yet it's working fine!

Well here's a new one on me!  For years I've been saving
email 
to a storage HD, and now all of sudden when I try and save
an 
email to it, I get it: "You do not have permission to
save in 
this directory.  See the administrator to obtain permission.

Would you like to save in the My Documents instead?" 
???????!!!!!  HUH??  It is ONLY happening with emails,
trying 
to save them from OE.

So what's the deal??    Of course
a search for this as usual 
yielded not a SINGLE result with regards to emails.  Once
again 
I seem to be the only person ever plagued with an issue!
