Hellow again,
This never happened before and I'm not sure what
information is important to
explain this problem. I'm using Notepad+ as my
"step-up" from the default
Windows notepad. I save my files in a flash drive (which I
recommend highly),
Now the problem:
From some of the folders in that flash drive, I'm not able
to open the .txt
file; instead, I get that exclamation mark warning,
"Could not open (name of
file)". The title bar name of that warning window is
"RogSoft Notepad+",
RogSoft being the software manufacturer of Notepad+
(something I never knew
until seeing this warning window). From many other folders
there, I have no
problem opening a .txt file. If I copy one of these stubborn
.txt files onto
the desktop, it opens easily.
I copied some content from one of those .txt files, pasted
it into the default
windows notepad, saved it in one of the flash drive folders
that gave me
trouble, and that file also would not open (giving me the
same warning window,
only this time with plain "notepad" in the title
bar). Bringing that file to
the desktop and it opens easily (of course, in Notepad+
because using "open
with" I had previously arranged that).
Looking at the Properties of both files (one that opens and
one that doesn't),
the property information is the same. They both open with
Notepad (shows the
Notepad+ icon) and both have "Archive" checked.
Anyone know what's happening
here? ... Harold
