Harold you have to backup your bookmarks and any other
addons in your
profile directory "C:\Documents and
Settings\yourname\Application
Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\zy6z31n1.default",
yourname is your name
on the computer and the number/letter combination is unique
to your
computer and user name after you uninstall. After backup you
must delete
the whole Firefox directory. Then reinstall Firefox.
It's a bug in the installer wrapper that has never been
resolved,
unfortunately :(
