PCWorks: New window in Internet Explorer.

I would have mentioned that, but I thought you would have
noticed this behavior at OTHER websites. If you
don't
have, and want, the right click and "Open frame in new
window"
and "Open (link) in new window" I have the
add-on for that, it
came from the M$ website. I don't think IE6 had those
options.
I find them VERY useful, couldn't do without them.

Woo-hoo!! I finally found the setting. It should have been
obvious.
IE/Tools/internet options/advanced. Then uncheck box for
"reuse
windows for
launching shortcuts".

Thanks again for your help,
Marlene

Hi,
Thanks to all who responded. I'm afraid I did not explain
the
problem very
well :-(. I'll try again. I open an instance of Internet
explorer and go to
www.shopkey5.com (from there everything is password
protected).
Everything
is fine until they need to go to another site to order
parts.
They use the
icon in the quick launch toolbar to access the parts order
page. When they
click the icon in the quick launch toolbar, the page that
has
"shopkey" on
it is the one used to open the Parts order page. This
happens
even if I have
another instance if internet explorer open with the focus on

it.

In other words say I have two browser windows open,
www.shopkey5.com and
www.google.com. I opened shopkey first, then Google. The
focus
is on Google.

I click the parts warehouse icon in the quick launch toolbar

and instead of
opening in the window where google is, the parts warehouse
page
opens in the
window where shopkey was.

I have made a screen shot which may further explain the
problem.
http://www.asos.us/iepr
ob.htm . Sorry it's kinda fuzzy, but if
you look
closely, you can see that google is in focus, yet clicking
on
the little
wrench (wrench head Icon) in the quick launch toolbar
results
in wrench head
being opened in the window where shopkey is in the screen
shot.

I'm sure there's a setting SOMEWHERE, but I have not found
it
as of yet. All
three of our pc's react the same way, so I am assuming this
is
a default
setting. Holding the shift key while clicking does not
appear
to make a
difference. I have not tried other browsers although I may
have
to resort to
that. The guys are VERY resistant to change, and it was
super
to get them to
go along with the online version. This saves me from having
to
copy 7 DVD's
worth of information to our hard drive every quarter.

Thanks again for all the replies, Clint, Peter, and of
course
John,
