Now I understand what you meant by "selectively"
... I'm never selective in 
restoring; I just go to the last point I think will work and
start from 
there. If necessary, I'll work my way back, back to the day
I bought the 
computer if necessary (whch is not far from the truth if I
have to do a 
complete system recovery). Maybe Hugh's link has the
asnwer; seems to be a 
good page to hold on to. Congratulations on your new Compaq
Presario 
SR1910NX, Mine is a year old, a Compaq Presario SR1520NX,
and I'm happy with
