> Then my real question is how to make Firefox my default
browser without
re-installing Firefox where I think, if I remember
correctly, one is then
given a choice ... I know I've seen this answered somewhere
before so another
question would be: Without bringing it up in a forum such as
PCWorks, where on
the internet or in "help" would I find this
information? The question seems so
elementary that I should have the independence to get that
information
myself.

I wish to thank everyone for the contributions to the above
question.
Interesting how they all slightly differ (maybe because of
different versions)
however in total, they led to the solution. I went to Tools,
Options, General
tab, Default Browser, Check Now, and Firefox now saves as
Firefox.

And I can see I should have gone to Help, and in the Search
box, typed in
"default browser" and I would have "gotten
that information myself" (the
independence I was mentioning above). I have Firefox since
maybe its inception
and this is the first time I looked at Help; go figure.
Thanks to all. ---
