PCWorks: Sentinel System Driver - what is it?

Hey,

I (finally) noticed this item in my Add/Remove Programs ...
But I can't
figure what it is.
Apparently it's *something to do with serial/parallel/usb
ports ... But
I'm embarrassed to say I don't know *what it *does.

The version I have is 5.3.9.2, which I think is old.
Do I need to upgrade?

Do a Google search on "sentinel system driver" and
you might get some help.
Apparently it's a security service (And might involve a
hardware 
"Dongle") for some printing services.
You probably would know if you needed it.
