Hugh,
I'm uninstalling Comodo Antispam. I DO have a life other
than
computers. I have a job and a little girl to take care of. I
don't have
all day to try to figure this out. I'm not as computer
literate as some
of you. You want me gone? Maybe this isn't the right list
for me, after
all. I thought this list was to help people with computer
problems.

I propose that Lisa be banned immediately and that all such
future
incidents get one warning. She hasn't taken any of the very
good advice
she's received, and appears to be incapable of managing this
Frankenstein program which is clearly a piece of junk.

Oh Lisa, Lisa. I and others have tried very hard to help
you, and now
that you're accepting that help we can make some progress.
Nobody wants
to see you gone, we just want you to stop Spamming us with
your poorly
designed email program. You may have seen the email
informing you that
other lists give one warning and you're out. Here, we give
you lots of
warnings, along with free advice.
I'm quoting a previous email below. If you need any help in
setting up
this superb program which will solve the SPAM problem
completely, let us
know. Just be sure to turn on the junk mail option, which is
very
clearly explained in the instructions.
"I get a lot of email, and virtually no SPAM.
Thunderbird (http://www.
mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/) has a superb
SPAM/Junk filter that will solve your problem without any of
this
hassle. It will also import all your contacts, mail and
settings.
I personally detest NIS, and have removed it every time I've
run into it.
Windows Defender and AVG Free will do the job cheaper and
better."

Lovely Lisa and dear friends of the list:
We have ever keeep in mine the list is to help all uf us.
I have read in silence and patiently many words
interchenged, but any one
really helps to Lisa.
Please, to all the members list: don4t attack among us
Lisa doesn4t need agressions, she needs help and all of us
should do it
Please, stop unnecessary words. She needs a quick and
effective solution,
because she has a big trouble with spam.
I would like help her, but I can4t do it because a main
rason: I know very
little about this matter
Beside, in my country we may not have PCs and Internet,
because it is
prohibited. We just can use the email service where we work,
in some
offices.
Lisa, I know AVG anti spam free version and it is very good
tool. I suggest
use it.
God bless all of you, especially to Lisa and her little
doughter
Good luck!

Well Jorge, I'll send you what I sent another member that
didn't fully grasp the situation since the same applies:
http://www.mail-a
rchive.com/pcworks imagicomm.com/msg12950.html
Please read all the URL's in that post.
There's no "quick and effective solution" for her
problem, and
unlike you (as per your comment to the fact), I **DO** know
about this matter. She is NOT alone in her problem with
Spam.
ALL of us are forced to deal with it, myself probably more
than
99% of the members here (hence the reason for my
recommendations for her).
(Just trying to help, again, but I would guess English is
not
your first language? Spanish or Portuguese your Native
language? You can get some free spell checkers for OE, that
appears to be what you're using .

I have several correspondents who do not have web
access...mostly in Africa.
Jorge's English is a whole lot better than my Spanish (or
whatever his
native language is)! His spelling is a lot better than many
people I know
online who live here in the US! Spell checkers do not check
syntax. Nor
do they pick up words like "mine" for
"mind". We all got the idea of his
post, and he has more courage than I would at posting on a
list in a
language I did not speak. Good job, Jorge, and don't be
afraid to post here.

>Jorge says he can't access the web.
Oh, well, that's different then.
I know all about "contextual usage's" of words
Sue. I was not
referring to "mine" and "mind" (nor
others perhaps like
"their", "they're" or
"there"). I was referring to things
like: keeep, interchenged, don4t, doesn4t, agressions,
can4t,
doughter, etc.
Yes, we all know what he meant and I fully comprehended it
or
else I would not have been able to reply. Yes,
his
structure was better than most English people. The point
is,
like Lisa, I was trying to HELP him. I've been sending
hundreds of emails per day for many years and posting at
dozens
of forums for many years, and I have seen many times how
sometimes simple typos like "teh",
"sicne", "becuase" and the
like due to usually just trying to type too fast, can be
erroneously misinterpreted as either a lack of intelligence,
laziness, or some other negative trait. My suggestion of a
spell checker/typo checker for him was in efforts for him to
AVOID that categorization.
For you Jorge, since you can't get online, here's a synopsis
of
my conversation with Lisa supporting my comments therein:
--------------
I thought I answered your comment in my original post, but
here
it is again:
"I DO NOT reply to these because these places
blackmail/extort
you into using them. Once they get your email address,
they
will then start sending YOU various BS (that's Spam)."
Optonline.net is one of the worse USA ISP's as far as Spam
goes. 2nd or 3rd maybe to Comcast, Cogencto and maybe
Verizon.
More UCE comes FROM these ISP's than any other. I have
been
forced to block more of the latter 3's IP addresses with my
email filters than any other in the USA, that's how bad it
is.
I would tell your ISP you need a new email address from
them,
and if you were careful about your original address, TELL
THEM
this; it's been believed that these aforementioned ISP's
actually SELL their members' email addresses to nefarious
places.
Isn't there a way you can add this list's email address to
some
whitelist?
----------------
Because I'm very busy with hundreds of emails per day and
customers, I can only recall right off hand most of the
most
frequent postees at this list. After some thought, yes, I
remember you now.
No one is saying that you are trying to Spam someone on
purpose
Lisa. But for all of those that continuously receive this
"challenge systems", it can be considered a form
of Spam to the
recipient.
The suggestions I previously gave you is a starting point
(about your ISP). If you don't have a website, you can get
one
and get it hosted for really cheap. A domain name (plus
hosting by with whomever you register it) for about $1.99,
but
the hosting may be a bit more. A domain name for about
$6.95-$8.95, then really GOOD hosting for about $4.95 a
month
(get one that uses the cPanel hosting software). The
purpose
of that would be your domain would have as many email
addresses
as you wanted, yours to delete and create at will, and
FILTERED
by cPanel's "Email filters" to which you can
create up to 999
email filters blocking anything you chose in the header,
subject, or message body.
I am unfamiliar with how your current Spam system works.
There
may be a way to add to some whitelist, any emails with this
list's email address in the header. Like the list's emails
show in the header "reply to: [list's email
address]", so see
if you could possibly add that to a whitelist. It's
possible
that won't work and you'd have to add all the list members'
addresses which would be a pain. For more info on that,
you'd
have to contact them, or someone else that uses the same
system.
I never suggested the sender of these emails (you) to be
removed from the list. My exact words, at the bottom of my
post, were:
"If anyone knows her, please tell her to do something
about it.
Thanks,"
See?
------------------------
I haven't personally seen anymore of the emails.
It's not a pain. If you
need any help on domain names and
a site, just ask.
-------------------
As I pointed out, at least from ME; no aggression, no
rudeness,
no attacks, nothing of the sort. Only help.
I'm growing tiresome of this entire subject and subsequent
spawned subjects. LOL.

Jorge lives in Cuba and this is the reason for the
restrictions on what
he can do. Internet censorship there is possibly the
strictest in the
world.
And as for not being afraid to post here, well, the worst
we'll do to
him is chew his nose if he rubs us the wrong way. But he'll

Yeah I knew he was in Cuba from his email address, that's
bad
over there. I recently changed email addresses for this
list
and now I'm able to receive his posts (I was forced to block
most of the LACNIC range of IP addresses on the previous
address). So if you need something from a webpage Jorge,
like
a download or info, just post the info you need and I'm sure
someone can post the direct link or info from a webpage for
you.
