Thank you, Marlene ... I did see all those windows when
messing around 
(which one should NEVER do in the registry), and realized
then that I know 
next to nothing about that area. It does look like a lot of
work but I 
suppose by following those directions carefully, installing
Adobe 8 can be 
done. However I'm saving that page if and when I do install
Adobe 8. And 
then there's always Foxit, as John suggested
