Hello again,
I bought my oldest granddaughter a Toshiba laptop. The
salesman said that all
new computers come with Vista (I would have rather had XP)
so I had to go
"Vista" ... and with the new experience of that
touchie feelie mouse, that's
not really a mouse but does what a mouse should do, I had my
fingers all over
the pad and the cursor was going in all directions other
than where I wanted
it to go. Anyway, with Vista now, I ask:
1. Where are the screensavers to be found?
2. How do you make all files visible?
3. How do I stop the mouse-overs? Files are opening up all
around me without
my permission. What kind of a world is this; nothing is
supposed to happen
without my permission
4. Here's another one; every time I want to delete or move a
file, how do I
stop the computer from telling me that Windows needs
permission maybe with
another two confirmations?
5. Finally (and I know if I hang around her computer,
there'll be a lot more
questions), I lost the recycle bin on the desktop. I know
it's someplace in
the computer because I'm able to delete files to the recycle
bin (wherever it
is hiding). I can also undelete the last file deleted. I'd
like to have it on
the desktop. How does one in Vista create that using the
Registry. I know the
way to do it in Windows 98 (and maybe XP) but here my
granddaughter is without
a recycle bit. Now how is a kid supposed to live without a
recycle bin!!! ---
