PCWorks: Does anyone know how to paste text from Word/WordPad into an email without the text BEING D

Does anyone know how the $#% to paste text from
Word/WordPad 
into an email (OE XP) without the text BEING DOUBLE-SPACED
in 
the email??!  Man, this is annoying!!!  I tried plain text,
and 
rich text/HTML format and it still does it!  The ONLY way I
can 
fix it is I'd have to go into the source code of the email
and 
remove all the <p> and </p> garbage (which skips
lines) then 
replace them with <br> tags!  The text has to be in
HTML format 
because of images in specific places.
