It's interesting how everyone has his own favorite text
editor. Clint prefers
Metapad; I think Hugh suggests 1st Page (certainly when
working with html).
Then there's ConText, DocPad, ShalomTxt, Win32pad and who
knows how many
others. I prefer Notepad+, which has all the notepad
features and then some.
And poor Bill Gates, all he has is lil' ol' Notepad with a
tool bar as naked
as (choose your own simile) --- Harold
<snip> On many file types you can change the extension
and have other programs
opening them where some can still be read. Like if you want
to try and read
what's in a .exe file, change it to .txt and you can view
it in Notepad. (In
my case, I just put a shortcut to Metapad [great powerful
Notepad replacement]
in my right click context and "Send to......"
area so I can send any file type
to Metapad and read what's in it. That's much easier and
faster). --- Clint
