Re; code folding

Perhaps I am missing something, but I cannot get code
folding to work in the rc3 release. 'enable code folding' is
checked and the gutter reflects a space for the
expand/contract contols, yet they do not appear.

I've searched with no luck on this topic. Is this a known
issue?
