dear all,
last night I just have installed Eclipse with PDT Plugin
support, but
after I start the Eclipse, I just can't see the PDT Plugins
and
features (creating new PHP Project etc.), and I did try to
start the
eclipse with "-clean" parameter, but it seems that
it won't start the
PDT. then I come across with the PDT Requirement in the
Help page,
may I copy-paste it:
Microsoft Windows 2000 (all) / XP Professional / 2003
Server family.
(Windows 2000 users should install Microsoft's Service Pack
3).
Linux glibc 2.1 / 2.2 / 2.3 (e.g. RedHat 6.x / 7.x / 8.x /
9.x /
Fedora Core, Debian 2.2, SuSE 6.4 / 7.2, Mandrake 8.1 / 9 /
10, and
others).
Mac OSX 10.2/3 G3, G4 or G5 processors.
I am running the Eclipse PDT in windows XP Home environment,
so I can
safely said that it is not supported by the PDT Plugin.
but my real question is will PDT Support windows XP Home in
the future?
thx in advance
regards
teddy

Hi Teddy
I am running it under WIndows XP SP 2 without any problems.
I got the
bundle from http://zend.com/pdt. I also
downloaded the sever debugger
library and it works great.
Hope this helps

Hi Dick,
thank you for your reply, I will download and try it, but
for my
curiousity, may you tell us the edition of your XP, and mine
is also
XP SP2, just that it is the home edition, and for a fact, I
did try to
install the PDT in Windows XP SP2 Professional Edition, and
it was
running.
thx,
best regards

I'm seeing similar. I downloaded all-in-one from SF and
Zend
on Windows XP Pro.
pdt-1.0.0.S20070611-M1_debugger-5.2.6.v20070507-all-in-one-w
in32.zip
pdt-all-in-one-S20070611_M1-win32.zip
Run ecplise, goto File->New->Project, no PHP wizard.
Download linux all-in-one and I see PHP wizard.

1. Go to Help - Software Updates - Menage Configuration
2. Toggle "Show Disabled Function" button
3. Expand Eclipse Platform tree and look for PDT Future
4. If You can find it, make sure that it's enabled.

Hello Adrian,
Thanks for the help.
I followed your instructions and PDT is enabled. I've
attached
a jpg showing the Manage configuration window. I see two
versions
though, one disabled 1.0.0V20070611-79 and one enabled
1.0.0V20070712-79

Dear all,
I finally found the solution! this is what I did last night:
1. create the jre subdirectory in the eclipse directory.
2. copy the jre 1.5.0 into the jre diretory.
Apparently the pdt eclipse has been running using the
default 1.6.0
jre which I installed into the system. and the pdt eclipse
did
running fine after I copied the jre into the eclipse
directory
thx for all u guys suggestions, appreciate it very much
regards,
teddy
