special character cause editor not open file

Hi :

i have a  php file contains "^M" characters, pdt
not able to open it ,
and throw a "java.lang.NullPointerException" , but
once i had removed
"^M" characters, ptd editor can open
the file again.

my OS is window XP, eclipse is 3.3.0. pdt is 1.0.0
