Net::netmask module

I'm doing a test to get Net::Netmask working and all I have is.

use Net::Netmask;

my $block = new Net::Netmask ('172.30.254.0', 'fffffe00');

The error I'm getting is.

could not parse 172.30.254.0 fffffe00 at nic_info.pl line 158

As fare as I can figure it is just like the doc's. Does anyone have any
ideas?
