By far the best resource on this subject (IMHO) is
O'Reilly's "Learning
Perl Objects, References & Modules" by Randal
Schwartz (Merlyn) and Tom
Phoenix.
I've read quite a few books and web tutorials on this
subject, and none
were as comprehensive and easily digestible as this book.
